My friend pulled a vintage slingerland bass drum kit of a dumpster today which he decided to give to me. Stamped May 27, 1959, had all the original hardware except for the rail consolette and front hoop (which I have found a suitable replacement for). Just put a new coated pinstripe on it and tuned it up and it sounds great! Thinking of rewrapping it as the original silver sparkle is in rough shape. Any ideas on where to find a blue that might match my old mij pearl kit? It’s faded into somewhere between a turquoise and blue. My options are either that or hunting down a couple old Slingerland Toms in need of a rewrap and just doing them all at once.
