I finally got photos attached to my post. Not sure how well you can see the squared off thumb rod.

From what I can tell (not a lot of details), your drums are pretty well-worn. The value will be pretty low. Maybe a couple hundred at most. The problem is that they are impractical for modern application. They are a conversation piece, in other words.

If they were complete and in excellent condition, then you could be looking at a lot more money. It seems the value for these really old, old kits is in the completeness. Yours is basically the skeleton of a drum set.

However, there IS one potentially cool thing that your bass drum can "do". It can be used as a "woofer" Ever heard of one? It's when you take one bass drum and place it in front of another bass drum. If, for example, you have an 18" bop sized bass drum, you can place your "juvenille" bass drum in front of it and then when you play the 18" bass drum, the air excites the head of the larger diameter bass drum and gives an overall lower, thicker sound. Some people like the response of a small bass drum and the sound of a big one. This is a way to kind of bridge that gap.

They also make great decoration in a den or music room, too.

But, practically, they are not "players"....although they can be played!

So, to recap:

Value = LOW

Cool factor = HIGH!

I very much appreciate your feedback and suggestions. I just got curious about about how old these drums were when I noticed the "Ludwig" decal. Funny how you can have something for so many years and not know what you have. Also like your suggestion about using the old bass as a "woofer". Might be interesting with my 1966 Rodgers.

I realize any value to my old drums is only what I might do with them or what a "collector" might want to do with them.

Thanks again.
