Vintage Ludwig Bass Pedal

Hi all!

This Pedal was handed down to me from a very old and dear friend of mine.

From what I understand, this pedal was used by a drummer during the swing era in "The Blue Room", right here in Kansas City!

From the pics uploaded; I wanted to ask all of you vintage experts on your thoughts on this item (i.e. when it may really have been built, comments on the condition, and what it may be worth?).

Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

Ludwig had the first pedal that "took off" commercially (they weren't the first to make one, but theirs was very successful)....the one you have was probably made in the early '20s. It was the most popular model. There are tons of them around...they usually sell from $20-50. The Ludwig book by Rob Cook has a nice history of them.

so i suppose it wouldn't be much of an investment to sell it since there are so many of them out there. selling something that was made not too long after the First World War for $20-$50 bucks wouldn't be sagacious...

Thanks Rich!
