Greetings,
This is for a Vintage Ludwig Bass Drum. 22" (head) x 14" (deep). 10 lugs per head. Based on the shell construction, probably a Keystone era (Pre-1970). Unable to tell for sure though, because a previous owner painted the inside an off white and it was also rewrapped by a previous owner and no badge is present. See Pic 2; it appears a cymbal arm was once present but the holes were wrapped over and not re-drilled. Obviously, it's missing a head and a hoop. The existing hoop is wood but is missing the inlay strip.
It's missing six lugs and several of the "empty" lugs are missing the threaded inserts. 5 tension rods/claw hooks are present, most are non original. Non-original spur brackets and extra holes near the spurs, possibly had a second set of spurs at one time. Tom receiver and arm need polishing but are 100% functional. Can't tell if the tom arm and receiver are original to the shell. My guess is no, but I didn't see any old tom mount holes (such as for a rail mount) unless they filled them and painted/wrapped over them (although they didn't do that for the cymbal bracket holes, so who knows)?
The shell structurally is in good shape overall. Because it's missing parts, is a re-wrap and has extra holes, this is priced accordingly and priced to sell. This is a sound vintage shell, it just needs some TLC and some parts.
$50 plus shipping. I realize shipping will be pretty expensive for a 22". I am also willing to meet (if you throw me some gas money) within 100 miles of Cincinnati, OH, which would include Columbus, OH, Dayton, OH, Indianapolis, IN, Louisville, KY and Lexington, KY.
Thanks,
V
