Hello

A friend of mine has a date stamped 1964 Ludwig set and the 13" tom lugs look dull like nickel and the 22 and 16 lugs are shinny. Did Ludwig mix lugs back than??? 14" Supra and 13, 16,22 all have red felt muffler and stamped very close to each other.

Please let me know what you think. thanks for all your time and help.

I doubt they would mix nickel and chrome drums at the factory. I've not heard of that before?

I'd have to agree with Bun. Maybe put together by mistake (brand new nickel isn't that far off from chrome in appearance ) but otherwise unlikely. Always possible that a music store put them together as a set. The difference wouldn't have been as glaring 56 years ago.

As Kevin noted, perhaps on the music store side. If anywhere, I’ve seen chrome classic floors with nickel club dates or combos. I have the former as a first set.
