Not long ago I finished restoring an antique Leedy marching snare, and began researching it. The best I have done is dated it to pre-thirties. This snare has long metal tuning rods that go through hooks on one rim and thread into hooks on the other, and instead of tension casings, it has things that are more like rod supports. It has a 17" diamiter and about an 18" depth. The snares do not turn off and are only tenwion-controlable through a single threaded tension rod. It has the retangular woth semicircles badge, consistant with the thirties era badge, but the thirties cataloges show central tension casings. There is no visible serial number. I may later be able to post pictures. Can anyone help me identify a more specific age for this drum? Thanks!
