Vintage late 50's Cymbal Arm

Loading...

I'm looking to complete a George Way kit.

I recently acquired a George Way Bass Drum Cymbal Arm mount (looks like an oversized aristocrat lug with a Leedy-style T-rod going into it). I think a 50's Leedy Cymbal L-arm might work with well with this mount.

--- OR ---

I also have a George Way "Waybest" Cymbal Arm Bass Drum mount (this one ONLY takes the George Way arm with the squared stem). The Waybest Ratchet Arm is the only one I have ever seen with a square (rather than round) stem.

Does anyone happen to have either of these Cymbal L-Arms??

What about a Camco arm? What's the size of the hole for the bent rod?

Check with Mikey777 on the Forum. He might have one.

A local metal/machine shop might be able to crank one out for you.

4more: the hole is standard size and accomodates both vintage and current L-arms.

I would certainly consider a Camco L-arm, preferable 60's...

JRichard: Yep, I've got a machinist, but I've spent all my machinist money turning single hole aristocrat lugs in to two-sided lugs and making the bottom pegs for them in order to complete the 'Way' kit. I figure at a minimum I could eventually find a Camco L-arm if I am patient.

I think I have an all original Camco L arm, Oaklawn, Ill. Could you post pics of one to compare with?

This one (in very nice condition) did not sell at $125 and I subsequently offered the guy $85 he replied that it was a fair offer but hen relisted it along with a throne, etc.

280499170744 is the ebay number.

May very well be-- I'm way more versed in Camco drums rather than accessories!

As mentioned, I would be using this are to complete a George Way kit, so unless it was an actual WAYbest cymbal arm, I'm not that picky...

That being said, did you have a price in mind?
