Can anyone ID this hi-hat stand? It only has one height adjustment as the top cylander fits in the lower pedastal stand. The pedal has a break in it as does the rod for the cymbal clutch. Not a literal break. But folds.
Vintage Hi Hat stand ID?
The name escapes me.......
Hi, With out a photo iam just guessing...Maybe a 30's-40's Slingerland,Ludwig, or a W&A.......Mikey
Sorry I forgot to include the photo. Not a bad stand really. The action is nice. I think there may be a missing piece that the bottom cymbal might sit on. A plastic piece or maybe just felt.
More correctly, I think that the hihat (missing the little bit of lower cymbal hardware) is "Ernie" the generic hihat made by Walberg & Auge for Gretsch and other drum companies in the 50's and 60's.
You are probably correct about that exact foot board. But, the hi hat stand with various footboards most likely did come from Walberg and Auge. I played with one like that for several years in the 60's. I can't remember what brand it was--maybe Gretsch. In those days, if a piece of drum gear broke, and I needed a replacement for a gig, I bought what the music store had in stock. That is how I ended up with a Ludwig Standard hi hat that proved to be very serviceable for several more years
I have a nickel Leedy HH stand that is identical except a Leedy footboard.
