Does anyone know if all the lugs from the 50's - 60's era were the same size and had the same mounting hole spacing? I have some lugs that I was told were Gretsch but are 2-1/2" overall size and 1-3/8" hole spacing. They do not match my other vintage Gretsch lugs in size but look and are made exactly like them. Thanks...

I'm not sure how (or if) they varied from year to year, but I know the bass and floor tom lugs were larger than the rack tom lugs.

I'm not sure about the 50s but I can tell you first hand that brand new ones will fit 60s vintage and look identical on the outside.

My late 50's Gretsch lugs:
The snare lug is off my 58 3ply snare
The tom lug is off my 58 3ply rack tom (the same lugs are on my floor tom)
The bass drum lug is off my 58 3ply
