Vintage Gretsch & Rogers Snares

Loading...

This is a continuation of my thread in the "What's it worth" forum. I've decided I'm going to sell the two vintage snares.

I've been corresponding with some interested parties via PM, but I thought I should just make a new thread with the pictures so everyone can see exactly what the drums look like. I owe it to my aunt to get as much as I can for these.

To that end, I've taken some more pics of the snares, which are attached. The Rogers, in my opinion, is in really good shape, all things considered. Very few rust spots. The strainer bridge is intact and the little damper inside the drum also appears intact (though I'm not sure how to make it work, since it won't hold firm against the drum head).

The Gretsch has seen better days. Lots of rust spots on the rims. The rims also appear deformed from being over tightened. Also, there's a gap at the seem on the wrap. All these issues should show up clearly in the pics.

I'm willing to sell these both as-is if anyone's still interested.

Am I supposed to just put a price on them, or do I just sell them to the highest bidder here in the thread? I'm not sure how you all do things around here.

Poor Gretsch. I wish it had been taken better care of. Maybe you can bring it back to life?

By the way, I just noticed it looks like the Rogers is missing a bolt/screw from one of the lugs. I have that piece in a box. I found it on the floor when I was taking the drum set apart and I didn't know where it went. Now I see!

I haven't had any real offers on either. At this point, if you offer something reasonable, I'll probably take it. Feel free to PM.
