Vintage Cymbal Stand Innovation...

Loading...

I'm not sure anyone other than a vintage drum afficianado would appreciate this. :) It occured to me that my vintage cymbal stands have the same threads as most camera mounts. So today, when I was snapping some cymbal pics for Reverb, guess what I used as a tripod? Jumping2 Has anyone else mounted non-drum stuff on their vintage cymbal stands?

Same here! Never thought of this! I have extra vintage cymbal stands and...a REAL camera! LoLoLoLo

I also have a pro-quality tripod, but there are many times that it becomes cumbersome and the cymbal stand would work much better.

Thanks for the tip! Bowing

Used a base for a tv antenna in the attic once. Great idea for the camera!

Thank you!

Back in my gigging days, I used a Ludwig Atlas stand rather than a tripod to mount my video cam. I liked the smaller "footprint" of the cymbal stand. A standard tripod just took up too much floor space.

Hey rstange1: Did you polish that Rogers swivo stand? Mine didn't shine like that when it was new.

No. The stand came with a nice WMP Rogers Celebrity kit I bought from its original owner a few years ago. The whole kit shines like new.
