Vintage Cocktail Drums/kits

Loading...

I'm hoping that someone can provide some input as to whether vintage American-made cocktail drums and/or cocktail kits are considered collectibles and/or good investments. I'm referring to those consisting of the elongated drum with the pedal and beater with cowbell and cymbal attachments.

I'm also trying to find out what a cocktail drum as configured above would go for in today's market?

As usual, any and all input would be GREATLY appreciated.

Glad to share...

OldSchool you always come up with incredible vintage builds. I'd love to see what kind of cocktail kit you would put together!

I found that link looking for some inspiration to make this old Vespe tube whole again. Hurting

I think yes- definitely collectible, but the market will be smaller and more specialized than your regular vintage drum collecting community. I myself love playing a three piece sit down cocktail kit that uses a FT as a bassdrum and ft combined - this simple set lets me omit bringing the bass drum to the show. Slingerland perfected this idea in the late 40s and early 50s with their bebop combo cocktail:

The amazing thing about this kit design is that is was intended to be able to convert from a regular horizontal bass drum or a cocktail easily. I think it`s genius and I`ve copied it myself with a Fibes 16x18 and FTs of other sizes as well.
