Vintage Bass Drum Hoops

Loading...

I've got a Rogers early 60s 20 inch bass drum that needs some wooden replacement hoops.

Would there be any negative impact to the drum if I used a pair of vintage wooden drum hoops from one of the other American drum manufacturers of that time period, such as Ludwig, Gretsch and/or Slingerland?

Were there any SIGNIFICANT differences among these hoops that I should take into consideration?

Also, were all of the in-lays 1/2 inch during that time, regardless of the manufacturer?

Any and all "words of wisdom" would be greatly appreciated.

THANKS!Keep on Pl

I don't think it would be a crime to use another brand hoops if you have or can get them. I think Rogers and Slingerland use the same width inlay...the Ludwig is slightly different.
