Vintage 1st generation Paiste Alpha medium hi hats

Hey folks. Haven't posted in a while cause I've been quite busy with gigs, so I'm thankful for that !. Here's a question for the Paiste guys like myself. As a vintage Paiste collector and long time user, I sometimes come across some cymbals that confuse me. I just picked up a nice set of early, 1st generation alpha hi hats that are in nice condition, and was wondering why there is serial number and stamp saying made in Switzerland ? I always thought thought the aplhas were made in Germany and had no serial but stamped made in Germany ? I have seen some examples of my hi hats with a made in Germany ink stamp on them. So my question is, is this a true 1st generation alpha or not ? I also like the fact that it is similar in lathing to the current signatures and signature precision.. Some have even stated they sound just as good. I can't tell the year of manufacturing from the serial number cause it is very difficult to see, but it does look like a 3 for the first digit indicating 1993 to be the yr of manufacturing. Any and all thoughts are appreciated.

Cheers,

Rob

I don't know about these myself but what you mention is consistent with this timeline:

This is about the only online guide we have left since the demise of the Paiste-Only-Wiki. Some of us are collecting info to recover what was lost, but it's going to take a long time. The Wiki wasn't built in a day.
