Vintage 1958-59 UFIP Cymbal

Loading...

I have a vintage 1958-59 UFIP cymbal for sale.

I bought it with an old 1950s drumset (that was trash) but got two great cymbals with it. The other was a K Zildjian from 59 if I remember right. Rare sort of beast sold for $900.

This UFIP I emailed them directly and got responces as to the dating and confriming my suspicions on it. They priced it (rare from a company I know, but they are European) around $1200-1400 with the pics and closeups I had at the time. I just want to be rid of it.

Asking $350 including shipping. What do you think?

I've got a pair of these really old UFIPs, great cymbals really. Could you provide a picture of the cymbal and the stamp?

I will need to retake them, as I cannot find where they went on my computer. I will and then send them to you as a reply. Hopefully later today or Sunday.

No UFIP on earth is worth that much or even anything close to that.

That appraisal they gave you is all the way up into new stamp K. territory.

I trust their evaluation of their own product.

This wasn't a one time email to them I spent a couple weeks emailing a talking with them. Sent them a couple batches of pics.

They do make good cymbals, and the older stuff like this is rare.

Maybe take 'em on a spin around eBay, and see what they are worth that way?

I'm personally trying not to put them up on ebay. Don't like the fees and paypal fees.

Just trying to get rid of it and though here was a good place.

Also have a 70s zildjian I just found in my basement room, thought I had sold too.

18" crash i believe.

Cool. So how many $1200-1400 offers have you had so far?

I second what Drumaholic says. You will be having a hard time selling these the price you request. Many sellers keep their position whenever they feel (and think) their stuff is highly valuable. You have the choice to hear other people who are used to buying and selling, or just keep the stuff forever.

Your choice.

But I just thought of one more possible choice:

Since UFIP claims that it's worth $1200 -$1400, then maybe you should try selling it back to them. Since they value these cymbals at about 10X more than the buying public does, then I'm, sure they'd be absolutely thrilled to be able to buy this gem back and put in a glass display case at the company headquarters.

Just something that would might to consider while your waiting for that next big money offer. But then again I'm sure your mailbox must have been totally clogged up with offers since then.

But please do keep us up to date concerning the latest news as to the disposition of this cymbal. Won't you?
