Velvet Fibes Snare

Dear All,

This is my first post as new member, so hello.

My question concerns my recent aquisition – a Martin-era Fibes SFT snare drum finished in what appears to be an orange flocking like velvet. I can't see any seam anywhere and was wondering if it might be a factory original. Any clues anyone? Thanks. PimlicoJo

There's some blue ones on e-bay now reffered to as "astro-turf".

They are different, and unique.

Thanks folks, the flyer in particular is fascinating. Would you say these are rare and or desirable (leading question I know)...
