Value of Gretsch vs. Ludwig

Loading...

In general, is Gretsch more valuable than Ludwig? I have a 1960s vintage

blue sparkle Gretsch and Ludwig mixed set. Amazingly, the blue sparkle

finish on both are identical. I haven't determined the exact year yet. Any

ballpark ideas on the value of such a set? Bass, 2 toms (1 Gretsch the other Ludwig) and a floor tom. Ludwig chrome snare.

Thanks

For further evaluation, pictures would really help. Seeing it would help in dating the drums. Be sure to show the badges on the drums.

Right now Gretsch seems to have a higher market value than Ludwig, in certain finishes and sizes. Some Ludwigs are more valuable than some Gretsch right now and the other way around. Hard to say with blue sparkle though.....fairly common color for Ludwig, not so common for Gretsch.......
