Value of 1980s Rogers Drum Set

Loading...

Hi Everyone:

I'm looking to find out approximately how much I can sell my old drum set for.

I've had my Rogers 5 piece drum set (from the mid-1980's) in storage and now I'm looking to sell it. Everything on it is original including the heads. It's in excellent shape except for some of the hardware that's rusted and the heads were beat on pretty good back when I played over 10 years ago. It's part of the Big R series, but there isn't any other information. The drums themselves just have Rogers on them. Finish is dark blue and the snare is a Roger's too, silver. Sorry I don't more much more than this.

Any help with how I can find out the exact model and the approximate value would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Chai

First, and most important question - does it say USA on the Big R badges? If not, then value is not very significant. Without USA, then it is an import shell kit. Mid 80's likely means Brook May kit, and import.

Thanks for the reply. No, it doesn't say USA on the badge. Do any of them from the 80's? I guess I always thought Brook May took over Rogers in the 90's?

90's is correct for Brook Mays. This is very likely from the Island Music import drum era.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Okay, I attached a few pics.... Thanks for helping me figure this out! I actually think it's from 1987 and the 1000 series... from the brochures on this site. So, if you can confirm this and/or help me figure out a possible ballpark value I'd appreciate it. Thanks again!

Yep. Island Music era drums. Unfortunately they are not worth much.

Value? Great condition 200-400 with everything. Problem is, for 200 more you can almost buy a decent upper low end kit with everything, thats better.

Dont bother selling them. They are great for backup situations, but if you have to sell them, dont expect much...If you want to feel real good, donate them to a school where kids can learn to play, especially the kids with disabilities and various challenges.Cool1

FYI - while the lugs and mounted parts look the same, the mounting holes are different from USA parts.
