U.S. West Coast "Must See"s

Loading...

I'm traveling up the coast to Vancouver. I was planning on stopping by Revival Drum Shop in Portland, are there any other "Must See"s along the way or in Vancouver? Thanks!

For sale? Most of the "vintage" stuff on CL is either missing parts, non original parts. Or my fav... re edges reinforcement rings. Not to mention every time someone does work on a vintage drum they stamp the inside with contact information... Not vintage anymore lol :2Cents:

Sounds like a fun drive though!

It's been almost 10 years since my last visit, but A Drummer's Tradition in San Rafael (north of San Francisco) might be worthwhile.

Drum Circuit in San Luis Obispo is a cool little shop

Starving Musician in Santa Cruz (there's also one in Santa Clara, I think)

Sam Adato's on 9th St in San Francisco, and a block down on 9th is California Drum Shop (or something like that)

Tom's Guitars in Medford OR has some drums, I picked up my 1945 L&L Victory kit there. :)

While in Portland, there are 2 or 3 branches of Trade Up Music that have used gear (if Jose at Revival hasn't been there first!)

Donn Bennett's in Bellevue (just east of Seattle)

In Vancouver, there's Tom Lee Music with the drum department downstairs from street level. Nice shop and some used gear as well.

Second on Donn Bennett in Bellevue. Drop me a note and maybe we can meet there. Live about $500 - I mean 5 miles from the place. Truly a museum of signed heads, snares, and a good arrangement of famous drummer sets. Well worth the time just to look around.

Oh yeah, he has some stuff for sale as well..............

Bumped into a guy there yesterday (cannot remember his name) who worked with Dean Martin and Ole Blues Eyes himself. You never know.
