Could you let me see the interior? Star made these for St. Louis Music Supply from early 60s-about 73. I can give you more info if I can see the interior, but as for value, not more than about $40, and may need to include shipping, or a negotiation on it. They are just not worth much in this condition and wrap. If it were Peacock pearl or maybe Fantasia, or even Lava, you'd have something worth a little more, but in red or blue sparkle, not much.

Please forgive me...it could be a later Pearl Corp. shell. After Star left the stencil market, Pearl got the contracts from St Louis Music Supply, as well as Brooklyn and the group from San Antonio. These were the biggest of the big time distributors in the 60s and 70s and made it into the world, so we are now getting the final disposition of these kits, only by our expert dissection of parts.

Like I said, including shipping in the continental US.

Made In Japan. These are usually low end, entry level drums. Getting a good sound out of them takes work and experience most people don't have or even want to take the time to mess with.

It depends on the actual sound and tunability of each individual drum, especially where snares are concerned. Setting up one of these Japanese snares is tricky and takes some time, patience and talent. Some tune right up, others take a couple of hours, some just plain suck, period. Ask what you want, it's your drum.
