Please be advised that during a certain period of English history there were 2 different machine screw types,3 if you include inches.There were metric and Whitworth.I do NOT know if Whitworth screw sizes involved anything besides automobiles,but it wouldn't surprise me at all.None of these sizes are exactly the same.

I have this drum too(mine might be 1937). I took a couple of screws out and put a thread guage on them ------they came out as 32 t.p.i.They would run loosely in an 8-32 die but it wouldn't run into a 6-32 die. the thing about BRITISH STANDARD FINE AND BRITISH STANDARD WHITWORTH is that the t.p.i. and diameter might be the same but the thread pitch is different and the thread crests are more rounded.Their is also BRITISH STANDARD CYCLE with finer threads of a different pitch. They were actually stronger threads than standard machine threads.The screws should be available in the U.K. Try ebay U.K. but you will need to do some research and get the sizes correct. The one that I took out of the upper snare control appears to be a 5/32 -- 32 t.p.i. B.S.W. The T-rods though, appear to be the standard 12-24 machine threads that so many companies used.-------note; if you have or know where I can find a couple of lugs for this drum I would be most appreciative.

Is it a slotted round head mounting screw for the upper snare control knob to be 5/32 Withworth? The screws for mounting parts of the snare mechanism have the same diameter and thread as the lug mounting screws, only shorter.

I even contacted Premier to know if they have an archive with technical drawings from all things they made during history, but they don't have it anymore... :o/

I don't know where to find these art deco lugs.... mine are still pretty although having some pitting.

@calfskin: T-rods??? You mean on toms and bass drum? Do you have a 1930's Premier drum kit with this Swingster console on wheels carrying everything?

yea. I pulled the head on the drum and had a good long look and checked on some other screws. they all seem to be the same thread but the little one in your picture with the half round head, I could not find. it seems to be the same ,though( based on the pictures). the little brass screw with the flat slot head , looks to be from the snare control through rod-----so you just need the nut for it? looks like a 1/8- 40 B.S.W. machine screw to me. you might be able to replace it with a 4-40 machine screw and nut, if you got in a bind.----the through hole would require little reaming if any.

no . i use t-rods as a term for all the tensioning rods. i guess some use the term t-screws for the snare drum.

Forget the Whitworth and metric stuff it never happened with Premier, try British Association screw threads

As far as parts, buy the derelicts of old Dominions when they show up on Ebay
