Hey guys,
I saw this for sale, wondering what it is. Does anyone happen to know? I'd say it's pre WWII.
Cheers!
It really looks like a Deslaurier!!!! Hand made in France! Here's some info on mine:http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=10028
GO AND GRAB THAT SNARE!!! RUN, DONT WALK! QUICK!
Vinny
Did you buy it?
Wohaa I didn't see that coming... Ok sure :D Will buy it as fast as possible, it is really quite cheap.
Lucky you, man! An awesome way to start 2015! Please share some pics once you bag it!
Yes it's a french snare, but not sure that was a Deslaurier snare... those lugs were used by the GARY Paris brand... who had also use this strainer... probably 50s, not pre-WWII...
Gary use those lugs for him, and for another brand who subcontracted the manufacture, it was Marcel FAIVRE
Looks like a Mori's, but Lugs where used by differents luthier.
But it smell very french !
The supersensitive system, the throw off, the shell the lugs and the rods look EXACTLY like my Deslaurier…I'd love to know if Tova bought the drum.
Yeah Vinny, -- and the system is almost the same as MARIUS R. and SONORUS.
P.S.: I suppose that Sonorus is out of business -- a new site is dead now...
Cheers,
George.
