Unknown bass drum pedal

Loading...

Hi. This bass drum pedal came with an used drum kit I bought. I have no idea what brand/model/year it is. It should be from 70's since it came with a Ludwig Vistalite and another 70's tama pedal.

The footboard has an interesting curved design and the tension spring system is inside the pedal structure. At top there are two knobs to adjust the spring tension. The footboard appears to have homemade rubber layer at top. It is very sturdy and heavy.

Do you recognize this pedal? Any idea?

Wow, that is an odd bird. Looks like they borrowed the spring system from the Speed King.

You might find a logo on the heel if you peel the rubber back.

Yes, I think the rubber was homemade glued. The footboard might have a logo under the rubber layer. Thanks.

The silver one looks like Tama. The one with the black foot-board could be Sonor, but I'm not sure.

Looks like maybe the pedal has been played hard enough to actually bend it. Any stress cracks from being bent?

It's been a long time since I created this thread.

Mysterious solved: it is a Yamaha pedal with replaced footplate.

A few days ago I came across a Yamaha bass drum pedal for sale. I ended up buying it since I already knew it is very sturdy. I was curious to try it down. The first pedal may be useful for parts.

Check it out.
