All the information I have about these drums is hearsay & memories. The sellers claimed to have gotten them in San Diego, but that does not necessarily mean they originated there. Roy Harte has a memory that was 3 decades old, about a person from San Diego buying lugs from Drum City for projects. He thought it may have been related to Bill Zickos, but I can find no evidence of Zickos living in San Diego making prototypes. Whoever built this set was very knowledgeable about drums, put some serious thought into the different features, & ,I would say, was not the first set he built.
