Unidentifiable MIJ Floor Tom

Loading...

American Kent-the last batches had either no edges cut or horrible, crooked ones. That, with a new round over edge cut, despite what looks like some moisture damage, will be a very nice sounding drum. You gotta love those glue blobs.....

Funny-the floor tom, especially an 8-lugger,is usually the hardest drum to find.

If that were my drum,I'd "bank"it and search for its siblings.

I have to agree with Tom on this one. This appears to be one of the last of the Kent/Jasper shells, and likely will sound great if you choose to roundover the edges. It can be done with sandpaper, if you have the touch. If not, find a local cabinet maker and kindly ask if they could put an edge on it for you. I have a 3 or 4 ply Kent 13" tom that has no edges and the lovely glue spots as well, but not the cool lugs. I am debating what to do with it as I have offered it for sale, cheap, several times. Looks like it will become a floor tom for another jungle kit re-creation...
