A vote for red sparkle too.

Then if you have a gig needing only the bass drum and snare, viola!, they match.

I didn't read the post well enough the first time and missed the fact that your snare is already red sparkle. So, with that in mind, I am going to change my vote to:

purple sparkle

Here are the actual drums. I'm not sold on keeping the wrap on the teal (blue mist) Luddy Standard floor. It's stamped May 1969 and is in GREAT shape. It had the original heads and stank like fresh glue when I removed 'em. Other than the fade, the shell and hardware are almost perfect. But, it's the fade that I don't like. Call it. Will this kill the worth of this drum if I wrap it in another color? I only paid 110 for it. The wrap will run about 40. That's about 150 into the drum. Will I lose money if I decide to go that route or will it hold some value? I don't usually worry about this sort of thing, but this drum really is in excellent condition...other than the fade.

The teal just doesn't blend well. It's not standing out bright and cheery. What about a blue sparkle 14 floor, gold sparkle 12, red sparkle 20 bass. The snares will switch out between blue, red, and gold sparkle and COB. That might do it...yes?

those Standard floor toms are on the edge of vintage collectibles. Re-wraping WILL ruin the collectors value of it. The teal was a typical Standard wrap.

You should sell it on eBay, and get another floor tom to mess with so you won't ruin a vintage piece.

Of the sparkles, you could have red, blue, orange, purple, silver, gold, tangerine and green. (I THINK i got 'em all!!)

A mix of your faves of these will make a cool jellybean sparkle kit.

I've seen a red, silver and blue used as a patriotic setup.

Red, Blue and Green are all DARK colors and would mix well.

Tangerine or orange, gold and silver are all LIGHT colors and would mix well.

You could just keep what you've got (red sparkle snare and a gold sparkle rack) and replace the teal floor with a blue sparkle floor and add a silver sparkle kick and be DONE!! A mix of light AND dark for added contrast!!

Just some thoughts . . .

I am sincerely grateful for all of the suggestions. My wife and I have made our decision. We are going to go with Blue, Red, Gold, Teal. They look pretty nice together. When I get it up and running, I'll post some pics. This is the kit that wasn't supposed to be. Cool.

Of the kits I've purchased this year, I've kept four. I've also kept five snares. The rest have been either sold or given away. I don't plan on purchasing any more for a bit. There are a couple of items I'm on the lookout for, but I've got pretty much all I need. This is such a blast!
