Thanks for posting your website !!
I'd love to narrow down the date of my John Grey outfit.... but there are no dates of production in that section?
Thanks
Kevin
Hello boss
After the war Autocrats were
6 chunky lugs on the 12" international size
Single ply rings
Internal stamp
Vacant lugs on die cast hoops (like Ajax)
Light blue shade on badge
In 1956 they changed after shifting address
5 smaller lugs on the 12", similar shape to Olympic, pre-int
Filled lugs on die cast hoops (like Premier)
no stamp
In early 60's they changed again
Ply re-rings
Aluminium paint inside toms
Deeper blue on badge
The bass drum lugs changed in 1957 to have a 'waist', previously similar but the end lumps met closer to the middle.
I wish I had time this AM to send you some detailed pics of my outfit.
Or maybe when I get back home after Sunday, I will post them here.
I have a couple of cat scans like the ones at your site, but as you know, the details are a little tough to see.......
Could we continue this early next week ?
Thanks so much for your work on your site.... it's important to have these resources available for us less enlightened enthusiasts.
Thanks
Kev
Okey dokey pig in a pokey job seekers.
I looked at your blue kit in the gallery pics. I would put it quite late, 1964-5. Have you noticed that the 12" hoops are different to the 16"?
I assume it's because the floor is an JG Autocrat instead of a Broadway, but I'm really not sure at all if that would be the reason.
Thanks
Hi Roger, What an informative website. I recently picked up what I think is a Royal Ace 4", Has a Ludwig strainer on it instead of what should be the Flobeam i believe? Once I'm back home I'll post pics of said Premier plus a cpl of Star snares I recently picked up. Looking forward to hearing what you can tell me about the Premier...especially if you have info on the strainer set up.
Cheers
