As luck would have it, I found on my door step the "rough" series 18" crash I purchased the morning of my gig, so I brought it with me that night to my gig. In short, its the best sounding cymbal I own. First cymbal that just doesn't make noise, it makes musicial noise, if that makes sense. They talk about this "roto" casting, which I know little about, but whatever it is, it works. Great projection, sustain and hits a pitch I have been looking for in a pie for years. My rudes have been doing the job, but now that I discovered these, I'll be keeping en eye open. Problem is they don't come cheap, and the rough series is more rare in the used catagory. extremely pleased.

Definitely have their own thing going on sonically, don't they?
I have 20" med class ride, one of the prettiest sounding sounding rides I have heard, whereas a lot of Paistes have a glassy ping, the UFIP is more crystaline with some color to it,but the wash is more along the lines of a turkish style cymbal to my ear.
I have heard that the splashes are second to none, and that the hats are great also.
Good luck on your search for used ones, they do pop up occasionally.
I have a couple UFIP splashes that are better sounding and indeed unique compared to any other brand of splash. I also want to be sure you know that Vintage CB700 cymbals were made by UFIP...and you may really like those. Commonly sellers have no idea what they are and sell them priced as "CB700 junk". I currently have 2 pairs of HHs if you are interested in those....I could shoot a vid.
I have two 16inchers and an 18....and will be selling one of the 16 inchers.....let me know if I need to include that in the vid.
