I’ve got a tunebot studio, and I really like it. I’ve used it to tune up my kit much quicker than I normally would by ear. It does have a frequency range, so tuning snare reso’s and kick drums can be problematic. I’ve had best luck tuning rack toms with it. Tune Bot even has a tuning calculator on their website, and that helped me get a good starting tune on my Ludwig Club Date downbeats. Unfortunately, sometimes you will get weird readings at certain points on the drums. When that happens, I rotate the Tunebot and see if it’s better. When you finish tuning a drum, I always do check it by ear to see if I’m happy with the tune. Overall, I do recommended the Tunebot, even though it can have its quirks!

I've noticed the same. All in all, I like the tune bot. Tuning by feel and sound will get about the same results- it's a good way to check yourself.

I really like how you can look up other drummers' tune bot settings if you want a particular drum sound. Being able to store your tuning is nice too.

I've owned one for over a year now and I like it. I've always tuned pretty well but it's a nice extra tool to use. Don't abandoned your ear, but the tune bot is helpful overall. One downside is that it doesn't work well in loud environments... if you setting up for a gig and the guitar player is tuning up, the Tune Bot won't work well because it will pick up on those tones.

I've got the app on my phone and it's pretty neat. It will help tune your toms to note intervals and gives an option on tuning for maximum resonance or minimal.

I still will tune by ear and then use the Tune Bot to check the difference in tones from lug to lug.

I think it would be a great add for me. I don’t have formal musical training so a tool that would allow me to match my drums with tunings that are tried and true would great. I’m sure it would help train my ear as well. THANKS!

Bought a Tune-bot Studio for myself this past Christmas. It's amazing! Allows me to get the pitches I wanted on my drum set and also proved to me that my tuning by ear capabilities are not all that wrong. It's a great tool that takes time in learning to use.

I did notice that how well the Tune-bot Studio works is affected by the type of drumheads being used, such as a Remo Diplomat vs Aquarian Studio-X. Also, the Studio version has the "high range" filter for use with snare drums. Nice features.

I believe that studio sound engineer is the same guy who wants to stuff pillows in your kick and can't mic it without a port hole.DOH
