Trying to figure out what model/year/shells this kit is.

Yeah, I have to agree - going through some of those Pearl catalogues in the Vintage Drum Guide it could be from anytime between 1972 - 76/77.

How much are they asking for that WMP? I like the extra bit on the ride stand. For a triangle or bells/tambourine perhaps?

that mount system features in the 1970 cat too

It's not cheap. Around the equivalent of US$500 (reserve). It looks really nice though and there's an 18" 602 crash in there too. The thing on the ride stand looks like a cymbal sizzler. I'm assuming it's a MIJ made one. I've got an old Ajax one that I use. They are pretty cool because you can flick them on and off with your stick while playing

[QUOTE=Fayray;368346]I'm with Mark. 1970 - 76/77. That tom mount disappeared from the catalog in 78.

Yes 76/77 ... also bought the Wood Fibre kit new in '76... Identical hardware to the kit in Question... Still have some of the hardware laying around..

Cheers

John

I've got the Crystal Beat version from this series with some original hardware. I gave away the bass drum pedal last week because I'd forgotten it came with this kit until I saw the WMP kit FSDOH

So that's about $600+ in "real" money.:) Then there'd be the shipping (presumably it's in the States?) which would send it right over the $1000 mark...

But I do like the idea of a sizzle you can turn on and off...

Oh, is it? Shipping might be a bit easier then. Mind you, I'm not out for purchase right now, I'm still cleaning this one up and don't actually need another kit just yet. Not unless you happen to have a 60s Ludwig Downbeat in WMP lying around that you want to get rid of...:D
