This is a Trowa snare, I bought about 2 years ago. It came with a matching pair of Bongos 6 and 8". The wrap is original as is the nickel plate.
Trowa orange sparkle snaredrum
Here are a couple of pix of the Bongos.
I sure don't know much about Trowa Drums but, I do know what I like. Beautiful!

that snare is a work of art
What size is this snare calfskin?

It is 360 mm x 115mm or 14 3/16" x 4 1/2" . This one was made sometime in the early 50's not long after the Link's left for West Germany. It came with not very good calf heads on it . I just happened to have some older German mylar heads , so I put them on. The nickel looked like it was made out of putty when I got it very dull and grey.
Congrat, Phil !
Nice snare from the same era that your last received Trowa kit (if I'm not mistaken, set is shampagne sparkle ?).
It's the last metric Trowa line --- one of my kits is the directly following after that already have inches size shells -- difference is in more short and soft-shaped ZAC lugs only instead aluminium on yours. But all the brackets on FT and BD legs mounts are the same.
Ah, how long I've waited any photos and this moment has come! :)
George.
