Trowa on Ebay Germany

Loading...

Saw these on the German Ebay site - unfortunately the seller isn't willing to send to the U.S., but I thought the wrap was interesting. I suck at grabbing the photos, perhaps someone can bail me out there...

...but I thought the wrap was interesting.

It's a wellknown TROWA Jazz orange sparkle.

The same model in exellent condition is presented in collections of italian collector Mauro Gatto, french professor Alexander Rochette and at hungarian Karman Shandor's museum exposition.

But the set's age - 50...60's - is wrong on 10 years.

This model was last type of classic Trowa style and it had produced just before integration Tacton's factory in 1970 from Lefima to Trowa - it was last 'Trowa teardrop' drums - age of this kit near 1965-1974.

Next models were transformed on triangle-shaped lugs and have presented on market a short time under the both names during factory's rebranding from 'TROmmelWAren' to 'Tacton Trommelfabrik'.

This kit not so bad, but restoration was passed at low level - owner described the process a little bit. That berliner guy is a repairer/seller of motocycles & bikes & drums. Toms hoops overpainted by aerosol, offensively for changed original nice BD-hoops to MIJ and its lower lugs were changed also, BD T-rods are changed to bolts (although these original are not so hard available there in Germany).

It seems to me that these pretty but unfortunate drums were needed more care from its owner... :(

Hi Eric.

I already corrected age of this kit in the previous reply

Shells made from hot-calendered 4-ply beech with beech force-rings.

George.

P.S.: How are you and your relatives there?

Hello,

As I live in Germany and I do have relatives in Berlin, I'd be willing to pick it up and send it to the USA. So if anyone is interested in buying it and spending the money for the shipment (I will not charge any extra costs): PM me.

Edit: please be aware that there are some issues on the set. I may translate some of the wording:

- inside of the bass drum is a wodden reinforcement part to strengthen the bass drum again

- rims of the toms are new laquered

- bass drum hoops are replaced by Yamaha 8000 wooden hoops

- 'some lugs and claws had to be exchanged'

- floor tom legs and the tom mount are still missing (added for the pics/ demonstration only!)

- no comments on the snare drum: so this is just a 3 pc set.

I want to sell excactly the same Trowa Drumkit like listed on Karman Shandor's museum site:

http://www.drummuseum.hu/gyujtemeny.php?a=c&f=2&mid=34&cid=59

Does anyone know, whats the name of the finish? It´s not orange sparkle, its a glitter finish with a black stripe layer over it.

Thanks for help!
