Very beautiful kit, Christian. Tromsa, became a victim of some marketing schtick by someone. So did Sonor and Rimmel/Deri because they all investigated plastic lugs about the same time and as far as I can tell, all were crackers.

I would look at your shells carefully, Christian. Tromsa, had a somewhat unique shell making technique. It saved both money and energy. From what I can tell, they rolled the shells, while the wood was still in a greener state, so they needed no steam. Part of the effectiveness of this was based on the use of a supple type of wood, so the shells are actually 3 ply poplar, with 2 plys of beech re-rings.Only the bass drums were 3 ply beech( I have seen poplar too), with 2 more plys as re-rings. This resulted in a super light drumkit, especially valuable where no roadies are to be found. The softer poplar also encourages the smaller toms to have a deeper resonance for their size than harder woods. It is especially noticeable on the 14" floor toms , which are the best sounding 14" floor toms I have ever heard.

I think, I do have one beech rack tom here somewhere but this is very uncommon.
