Tromsa Concord Parts hardly needed!

Loading...

Hy, just found that cool Forum here. I hope some of you guys can help me! I am from Austria and I play Drums since I am 12 years old! I am now 42 and i got the Vintage fever because of my old Tama Rockstar (Made in Japan 88). I got by accident an old Tromsa Concorde Kit in a very bad condition, but i decided to bring it back to live!!!

What I need ,is somebody who knows where i get parts for my kit! Especially needed are tension rods and hoops 12" , 13" , 16" and 20" for the Bassdrum!

I hope that somebody can help me here:-) I will soon post some pictures here to give you an idea!

regards from Austria

Christian

Cool 70's look!

If I recall correctly, those floor tom legs are similar to Trixon ones?

Thanks for the pics.

Ekkehard is a very fine person and your best source ,in Europe. His focus is on Tromsa and he knows those drums better than anybody. Gerd, too---he occasionally has the odd part.

*A few tips. Tromsa, became heavily affected by the thousands of cheap oriental drums, flooding the market. Unlike Trixon , who did not make entry level , or even mid-level drums; Tromsa continued to survive, partly by producing several lines of drums , right up until the end, eventually shutting down like so many companies, during reunification. Most of their sales, increasingly became mid-level drums and although they produced professional grade products, mostly they are known for entry and mid-level.

Some of their hardware is triple chromed and some is chrome on steel. I see some evidence, that they used triple chroming on the premium parts and direct chroming on the cheaper parts but the two parts when in good shape , look pretty much the same.

The older premium hoops were heavier and the chrome stands up. The cheaper stuff was lighter and often the chrome pits and peels , quickly.

Tromsa hoops are almost identical to Slingerland sticksavers----so those, can substitute admirably and usually ( not always) are better hoops.

Tromsa t-rods , usually have a very common 12-24 thread( I have seen another size on a Parade drum badged King's----Concorde's partner drum), so rods of other drum brands can be substituted.

Hi Christian,

You also can use an old Sonor, and Trowa too and Tacton (before 1982) sticksavers hoops - these are analogical.

Maybe this man could help you too - http://www.schlagzeugbetreuung.de/Schlagzeugrestauration.html

Lucky restoring !
