Tromsa aquamarine sparkle snaredrum

Loading...

This is a medium grade Tromsa snaredrum. The hand inscribed serial # on the seam patch indicates a mfg. date of 1963. Oddly, it came with a matching bassdrum that has several dates and signatures of an individual going back to 1951.

The drum came with a Tromsa made batter head carrying the double mallet Sonor logo and an original set of carbon steel 12 strand wires. 12 brass lugs.

The colour came out a little light. It is really, a darker aquamarine with more green in it.

forgot that. it's actually a 3 1/2 x 14 but the Tromsa narrow shells vary all the way from 3 1/4" up to slightly over 4. their 5 x14 drums seem to be quite consistent in depth. -------almost like they were making the narrow drums from cutoffs. they also made a 2 1/2 x 14 but those are really scarce.
