Speedfire lasted from 1956 to 1970 and even though a host of international drummers including (and not limited to): Alan Ganley, Phil Seamen, Don Storer, Clem Cattini, Tony Newman, Charlie Watts, Dave Clark, Tony Newman, Moonie, Brian Bennett, Pete York, Clyde Stubblefield, John Starks, Sam Woodyard, Barrett Deems and Buddy Rich played Luxus sets; you’d be justified in asking the question as to who actually played the elliptical set. As I said the idea came from Lionel Hampton and he’s photographed playing a set live so it’s a good each way bet his drummers Alan Dawson and Curley Hammer did too. Otherwise Kenny Clarke and Bill Haley’s drummer Dave Holly used them along with a whole bunch of European show drummers .
Even Ringo Starr played at the Trixon when he was young .
