Ha Ha Mikey , you aint havin em' back mate ha ha Laughing H !! glad you like the collection and many thanks again for tipping me off so that i could get that Speedfire !!
Cool drums, Diamond! Could you do me a favour and post a picture (or PM me) ofjust the snare seen in photo #1?I have the same snare with the same apparent colour fade and thought that the wrap was just faded out due to age. Do you know if the fade is intentional? Thanks for any help with this!Bryan
Hi Bryan, i have 2 of these snares..as you can see by the pictures the first one show the faded colour but on the other side you can still see the orginal sparkle there..unforunately for us the fade is not intentional ! It is a TX15 Aquamarine Sparkle wrap..it is an early 60's snare probably 61 or 62 with parallel snare release and should have 3 ply wood with re-inforced hoops and ajustable muffler...with a great sound too !! hope that helps mate..do you have a whole Trixon kit ?
Thanks Diamond!
My snare is the same, I think. It is thin shelled with re-rings, a parallel strainer and adjustable muffler. I have attached a pic below. I thought these snares were late 50's as opposed to early 60's? Did the squared off lugs start in the mid-60's?
Thanks for your info.
Also here is a pic of my Trixon kit, which I believe is a late 50's, 1958 I think. It did not come with proper hardware, except for the mounted cymbal arm and the floor tom legs, so some day I have to find the correct snare stand, hat stand and foot pedal!
Thanks again

Hi, firstly your kit looks great..and a very classic wrap TX 17...is that still the origial wrap as it looks great..your kit is very early 60's due to the the floor tom leg holder sockets being the new shape..Our snares look exactly the same..have you been round my house !!!! The teardrop lugs ended in 63/64 and the square lugs were mainly introduced in 63' . heres a foot pedal for sale at the moment..
"D" Don't look its a sad day for this Trixon bass drum. Its on C/l for 250.00.. First photo drum looks ok..But second photo question way??...Mikey
