Tricky CL Titles

Loading...

I've been wanting to get this off my chest lately.

Why is it that people list their 2nd and 3rd line drum kits under the drum manufacturers name only instead of saying what it is?

e.g., "Gretch" instead of "Gretch Renoun" or "Gretch Catallina"

Do they think that we are too stupid to know the difference and will

consider buying thinking they are top of the line Gretch?

Come on, if I wanted a Catallina kit I would put that term in the search.

I know you can strip it out in the search, but it's a pain in the neck.

Thank you, I feel better now.

Newschool, Welcome to the forum, I think a lot of it is from the fact that the seller doesn't know what it is! how many remo weather master kits have I seen advertised?? tons of them

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

You might have better luck searching for "Gretsch" as that is the correct spelling of the brand, you might come up with more choices that way.

I hear ya about the Catalina and Renown series. They may not be collectible, but they are quality drums, good gigging drums for the money.

Speaking of tricky CL titles, I'm partially annoyed by the people who post something like, "old Zildjian hats and ride--$100", and then you click on the ad to find that it's a ZBT ride and hats, and they want $100 EACH!

Okay, back to reading through the endless stream of e-mails offering me $300 or less for my 60s Ludwig 13/16/22 kit...

There's a guy on CL here that constantly warns people about over priced items on CL. I sorta appreciate his concern, but I am intelligent enough to do a little home work before I buy something. Check ebay and musicianns friend to compare prices. He certainly annoys everyone that around here. One another note, Y'all wont even believe this one.

WOW! It says he won't take less than $750. Okay, so if I offer a bit less and he takes it, will you pick 'em up and ship 'em!

Sure thing!!! Hers another. This guy started out a $500 a few months ago, he has been asking 250 for the last 2 weeks. today hes down to 150. Im sure they are worth the 150, I would offer him 100, but Im afraid he would take it and I would have to find a place to put them. they actually look pretty cool to me. What do Y'all think?
