I liked the Trans Stamp 14s so much that I took a chance on a matched pair of 13" TS hats that sound even better than the 14" set. 40s or 50s they both sound great and I definitely cannot hear the difference. Still one of the best buys out there on killer hi hat cymbals for a price that's way beneath the quality...

Trans Stamp hi hats were new to me, for decades I assumed most Zildjian cymbals sounded like what was made in the 70s and 80s when I was growing up. That was the main reason I play Paiste primarily. It's good to see Zildjian is actually making cymbals again with the Kerope series.

To me; Brass is the most important part of my kit. I have so many sets of hats lite jazz , heavy for rock blues , swing and others to fit any taste. I'll be selling them at the drum show ....if I can wait that long....

I bought a pair of 14" A.Zil hats off Music Go Round about 8 years ago for $60 plus $10 shipping to my door...
Turned out to be Trans! Flipped them for $350...
They must have given the guy or gal $25 - $30 for the pair!

You are probably the best one to answer this Q. My 2 sets of TS HHs have much wider and slightly deeper lathing on the heavier bottom cymbal. Is that or was that normal throughout the 40s and 50s? My 13" K Istanbul HHs were like that as well.

some of theses were orchestra brass, and that would be the norm with variation in lathing and hammering, sound's like some good brass you got
