I've been trying to get better at traditional on and off, mainly because it looks so awesome. I just can't seem to develop the right speed and flow!

Began with traditional grip 37 years ago, but changed to matched grip two years later. Feels more comfortable and my left hand has become pretty quick. Agree traditional looks cool, but cross overs look odd to me.

I've played trad grip for 48 years. The only time I switch to matched grip is if it's a long gig and I want to give my hand a rest by using different muscle groups. I go right back to trad grip again once my hand feels looser/rested.

Moot argument about one being batter than the other, really. Neither grip is better than the other and all drummers should learn to play both ways.

Too many great drums to list here!

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
