I have a trade I want to make. The pic is of my 1980/81 Gretsch Rosewood snare 14" x 5 1/2". I bought this drum new in late '81, and according to the nerdy Gretsch badge site, this particular 'stop sign' badge was only used between late '80 & late '81, so that narrows the age of the drum down. It's in excellent condition. I used it almost exclusively (live and lots of recording) till about 2004, and still use it occasionally. Thing about this snare is that I love the sound of it, but it doesn't visually match any of the kits I now own, and never will. This might seem fussy, but the rosewood finish is a real clash with my other stuff. What I'd like to do is trade it straight for a similar age maple Gretsch, but in any other finish and not rosewood. Or alternatively, a keyhole badge maple Ludwig in need of TLC, as a straight swap, or a talk about it.
