hi there. i just wanted to share a great moment from last week:
i have played with my 60s ludwig kit for a few months now and always liked it a bunch.
i now set it up in my studio the other day, put microphones on it and recorded some stuff. when i listened back later and wanted to edit stuff in LOGIC, i hardly had to do anything soundwise!!! WHAT AN AMAZING SOUND COMES OUT OF THOSE "OLD" DRUMS!!! The kick (22*14) is clear with a lot of punch, as is the 1963 Pioneer i have, f***ing hell!!!!!!! Excited just a little compression here and there, a bit of reverb, minimal EQing, voilá!! guess what will be my main recording kit from now on... :D
BTW: if anyone is looking to sell a 1960s 14" champagne sparkle floor tom and would be willing to ship to germany, let me know, i might be interested....
