Hi,
This is a pdf that I put together a couple of years ago from topics over at Sonormuseum with DIY instructions for making a grommet tool and fitting the grommet on a Phonic drum. It should give you some ideas. I have used the 2nd method with great success.
Also, no credit should go to me for these 2 ingenious devices/methods. The only thing I have done is to collect them in this pdf-file. Not even the spelling errors are mine...
