Probably the 1940's during WW2 when metal was being rationed.

It's probably not a practical drum set for gigging...unless you are into some kind of purist/nostalgia band....in which case, it would be perfect.

It is a kind of specialized collector's piece that could be worth that amount of money on the right day to the right person....but it may be on the market for awhile at that price in the current economy.

Jeez... that bass drum head is far to cool for school... I saved it. If I'm able to clean it up and get it to the right size, it's going on a bass drum head of mine, you betcha!

Was the Ludwig line of war /metal rationing drums called Victorious?Nice kit ,and if original and in reasonable shape I could see it going for close to what the seller is asking.And the BD head is to cool,those cats were wailing.
