Tom Mintz, AKA VaDrum, 2MANYDRUMS/ Hes at it again guys

Loading...

Well guys hes at it again!

I had a ad in the "wanted section" for some slingy snare hoops so I received a PM from good ol VADrum / 2manydrums / Tom Mintz.. His name on here is "2manydrums". He apparently likes to PM people across the vintage drum community and play games with there money by requesting that we send him a payment for a "gift" so he doesn't have to pay the two dollar fee.. And we all know that pay pal can not help you if you send a payment to someone as a gift...

If ANYONE wants to try to barter parts , sell, trade, ETC please make sure you review how many posts they have on here and to catch little things like how quick they are to respond to PM"s. I have never had a quicker conversation about a $50 drum part! 2manydrums was very quick on Pming me back and when I saw he only had 7 posts and was a member for this long I started to do google searches.(why isnt he banned may i ask?) Another thing was the fact that he requested me to send him the payment as a gift via paypal. Again we all know that is a no no.....

This is very disappointing. I trust people on this forum and treat you all like you are my friends and family. This guy needs to be stickied in the for sale , wanted , and trade section so people know not to bite the bate! Im so thankful I did NOT bite....

Here are a few threads about this guy:

+1 on this end as well

Nevin

To add to the post however....it amazes me how many people fall for the "gift" option. If you have not dealt or did business in the past with them, isn't it worth a buck fifty to pay it yourself on a $50 item? Cheap insurance.

He PM'd me when I ran a wanted ad over at DFO.

I told him, respectfully, that I had read the threads about him and was not comfortable

doing business with him. He then offered to send the parts first and once received I could send payment.

Turns out his prices were higher than what I had budgeted, so we never dealt.

... and I must state again for the record ...

the VDF offers a BUY/SELL category strictly as a courtesy! You guys HAVE to police it yourself! .. meaning .. CHECK on whom you are dealing with! Should you see something that doesn't look right, or perhaps read posts and threads about unscrupulous behavior... don't deal with them! It truly is that simple. We don't BAN based on deals that didn't go well .. because .. the BUY/SELL on the VDF is offered as a courtesy! We have no control over it. For the folks that DO engage in terrible practices, well... there are posts and threads about those folks EVERYWHERE! Again... DON'T DEAL with them. Be wise! Check! ... and then check again! PayPal sent as a "gift" is definitely something you don't want to do with a seller that you don't trust. Spot on there guys!

I've delt with 2manydrums a couple of times and had no problems. I did send him the $$$ as a gift but I thought that was to save me a fee.

From now on I won't send any money as a gift for goods.

I've never had any problems with Tom. He has also contacted me on MANY of my parts wanted ads, which is so much better than getting no responses. I haven't done any business with him in a while as I really haven't been looking for too many things.
