Those are so cool! It 'kinda' looks like my Ludwig Standard Avocado Strata's, but not quite the same. Click on the link in my sig to see them.

Are the drums any good?

I don't remember there being much difference in the price of most of the MIJ kits. I also don't ever remember seeing that brand, but there were loads of brand names.

Great find! Love that wrap!

Hi Your set is one of many name's used by Star..I would date your set from 1965-68 the shells are three ply with rings..Your color is a rare one to come by i can't re-call the name off the top of my head..Finding a matching floor tom will be hard to do...Still a nice little 3 piece set you have...Mikey

Cool looking kit! Has a "Club Date" look to it. As for that matching floor tom...Hmm...best of luck. I won't say you'll NEVER find one, but the odds are pretty slim. For now, enjoy the kit the way it is!

Those are certainly well preserved.I have never seen that particular wrap before, but it is similar to Avocado Strata/Ludwig Standard. That would be a good semi match and they have come up on Ebay, but not often. But ,as usual,I'm going to disagree on the maker.I think due to the springless tom and snare lugs and narrow, rough cut soft wood rerings that they are Hoshino-made drums. That badge,I believe is not in the photo database.

Hey! I've been lurking around the site for awhile now, but I just HAD to register to possibly help you out. After looking at your sweet drums, I was browsing my local "for sale" ads and look what I see....

It looks like the same wrap to me. Unfortunately no floor, but hey, might be worth looking into. let me know if I can help at all. They are about an hour away from me, but I'm closer than you!

Cheers, and see you all around the forum!

Hi,

I found the name of the color for my kit,by finding a vintage site and sending off a question. I was told that it was a Willow finish and my was a green and black willow finish.
