To drill or not?

I have a 60s Keystone badge Ludwig 20" bass with a consolette and I would like to play 2 rack toms. Would it be totally unwise, and most importantly detrimental to its collector value, to drill holes and install a double tom mount bracket? Should I consider buying a tom stand instead? Thanks.

It is your drum and you can do whatever you want but, you would lose value if you drill. The wise thing to do would be to get a double tom stand.

As was mentioned, it is your drum kit. You should do whatever floats your boat. With that said...DON'T DRILL!

Hang resell! It will crush the coolness of the kit.

A vintage kit with that single tom and that cymbal holder mounted on the bass...there is just something so outrageously cool and oh so sweet.
