Here's a picture of a recently wrapped kit that was inspired by PowerTone's original Rogers bop kit in the same color. Early 1964 beavertail drums. They sound great.
This One's for You, PowerTone
Beautiful! I know Dan put a great deal of thought behind this kit. The silver glass is spot on compared to the original. Not only does this kit live to be played for many more generations, it does so in exceptional style!
They look great, nice job!
Thank you!

Dan,
Absolutely gorgeous! That looks like genuine Silver Glass. Where'd you get the wrap? Was it easy to work with?
Mike
Thanks guys, and special thanks to PowerTone for the inspiration. I gave glass glitter one try quite a few years ago. It's not easy to work with in my view. Precision did this work. Otherwise the drums have not been restored. Metal and insides were not changed. Just the wrap.
Kit is for sale for $2700 plus whatever the Post Office needs. If anyone is interested. they can PM me.
I had the work done to preserve these drums for another round of 40 or 50 years The wrap was toast.
Precision is also doing over a similar kit from 1970 (14x18, 812, 14x14) using the new translucent black onyx, which was the original color. Again, the wrap was totally failed. I'll post pictures when it's done.
who ever owns these now should check out the goodwill site. I was first bidder on this mint powertone. I bid 8.95 but it has now gone up to 81 dollars. something tells me it will go up some more.
They have it posted as weather king ambassador batter drum.
