I haven't been around much lately and I missed this thread. Looks like I'll be the only response....
Click on the link at the bottom of my post to see photos of my W&A kit. I recently heard back from Jeremy, the current owner of W&A that Big Blue will be featured in his upcoming history of W&A drums. I'm proud and honored to be included in his book and through Big Blue, to become a part of W&A history. VDF history too! To date, the thread has been read, 30,700 times! Whooda thunk it?

That is one of the most beautiful drum kits I've ever seen, John! What a beautiful job! Hats off to you, my friend!!!

Thanks B - Lotsa work went into that one. Three solid months worth. Thanks for the kind words, bud.

W&A drums sound awesome. Full bodied, warm sound that projects. They were made differently from any other drums I've ever seen. Re-rings and bearing edges being among the most noticeable ones. Extra rings on some drums and custom edges on everything that left the factory. Quality with a capital Q.

It's Purdie Shuffffllleee! This forum is unquestionably my favorite..you can come back years later and see the same dudes showing off "new" amazing drum sets.
Anyways that is a very nice kit. I am a sucker for blue and that real classic look so you win :p Yours is the best kit on that site ;) White pearl is 2nd.
Are there anymore out there?

There must be a few more out there!! Can we see them?
Cheers
I've added one to my stuff since I've last visited the post. It is a part of a mixed kit that I bought earlier in the year (with some great history). The bass drum is a W&A. It's a 14x22 8 lug Gretsch shell,3ply no re-rings circa '50ish. Has Slingerland lugs. The badge was removed at some point but the outline can be seen. A rail and a Gretsch cymbal mount were added. It's missing the original Slingerland style cymbal mount which I am trying to find. Found some period Gretsch Broadkaster calfskin heads for it. The tom is a 48-52 WFL and a Transition badge Super snare drum. The floor tom is one of mine as a fill in until I find a proper 16.
