I bought this little drum set several years ago from a guy who lived way out in the country outside of Fort Worth, Texas. According to serial numbers, the drums were probably made in 1970. He just wanted to get them out of his house (actually the dun porch). he was happy to accept the $100 I paid him. The 20-12-14 Slingies were grimy. The sparkling white pearl bands of wrap had come apart and had big blotches of mildew between the layers of the clear and white parts. The blue and red sparkles and the metal parts cleaned up beautifully with a little effort. Precision supplied me with custom cut bands of vintage white marine pearl. The new WMP is a pretty close match to my Radio King 4x13 snare drum. As you can see, mixing and matching various red sparkle and blue sparkle snares and canister thrones works out well, too.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

Just completed this Slingerland Capri orphan kit since I'm now nuts for this wrap thanks to my other Slingy Capri kit. This one has a practically NOS virgin 20" kick from 1958 and the 12" tom & 16" FT are from a 1965 set where the BD was damaged. The snare is a SlingerLeedy with the most amazing version of Capri I have ever seen. All the drums are pristine with all original heads.

They sound AWESOME!
